Doula, Pre & Postnatal Education and Support

4 the Love of The Family, offers birth and postpartum Doula services, pre and postnatal education and breastfeeding support for families. We serve York Region, Toronto as well as the Greater Toronto Area.

Now offering Reiki, a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
This team of professionals in York Region support, guide and aid those who want to do their best each day to love, cherish and respect their children, and who want to learn and grow from their roles.

Breastfeeding is the natural way to feed a baby, but it doesn’t always come naturally.

Having professional breastfeeding support within the first few days after birth is a very important to a new mom and baby.

A special way to show your baby that he or she is loved, safe and understood is by massage.

Massage can lay the foundation for a lifetime of self esteem and good communication between the two of you.
The role of the postpartum doula is fluid. An important part of her role is to come alongside the parents and together decide what type of support they will need.

Some families need educational support: breastfeeding, infant support, and how to care for the new mother.
The Doula’s role is to provide physical, emotional, and informational support to expectant and labouring mothers and their partners during the labour, birth and early postnatal period.
Denise can offer help and advice on comfort measures, such as breathing, relaxation, movement and positioning.
Prenatal education is ideal for those having babies for the first time or for those who have had previous experience with birth and would like a refresher.

Knowing what to expect during the pregnancy, specific health issues, labour and delivery, and how to manage once the baby is born are all part of prenatal education.
